Our social responsibilities
At DASSY, our social responsibilities and ethical approach are firmly rooted in our corporate values. Therefore, beside complying with all relevant legislation we seek to go beyond that to ensure that the working environment within all areas of our business protects the human rights of our employees, embraces diversity and offers fairness and equality in every respect.
BSCI - Business Social Compliance Initiative
As an official participant of the Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI), an initiative of the Foreign Trade Association (FTA), DASSY puts efforts in building an ethical supply chain based on the 11 principles of the BSCI Code of Conduct (see BSCI website). With reference to these principles, we pursue “a constructive and open dialogue among business partners and stakeholders in order to reinforce the principles of socially responsible business and see the building of mature industrial relations between workers and management as being key for sustainable business”.
LAW AND REGULATIONS
We comply with all national and local laws and regulations applying to our business activities, and beyond that, we aim to act ethically in everything we do.
RESPECTING HUMAN RIGHTS
With reference to the general principles outlined in a number of international human rights instruments, such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, we respect human rights and require our suppliers to do the same.
Child labor is considered unacceptable. Nor do we accept any forms of forced labour or exploitation.
DIVERSITY, INCLUSION AND FAIR EMPLOYMENT
We take a clear stand against all forms of discrimination and regard our diversity as an asset. We are committed to create a working environment where all employees are included, treated with dignity and respect and are granted career prospects through equal opportunities.
FREEDOM OF ASSOCIATION AND EXPRESSION
Employees have the right to form or join associations of their own choosing and to bargain collectively. Employee freedom of expression is a fundamental part of our company’s open communication environment. Employees are encouraged to voice their concerns freely whereupon management equally acts upon their expressions.
INTEGRITY AT WORK
As one of our company values, acting with integrity is stressed in every aspect of our work. We do not accept bribes, kickbacks or try to compete by engaging in unethical or illegal practices.
