We are proud to announce that DASSY® and our production centre in Sri Lanka have won an EcoVadis silver medal. EcoVadis assessed us this summer for the very first time, and it was an instant success!
Why EcoVadis?
The EcoVadis assessment is part of our ESG strategy. As you may already know, this strategy consists of three major pillars:
- Circular products
- Sustainable activities
- Due diligence & transparency
Transparent and evidence-based communication is very important to us in the context of the last pillar, which is why we have our achievements and efforts validated by external parties such as EcoVadis. These labels, certificates and memberships enable us to communicate in a responsible and truthful manner.
What is EcoVadis?
EcoVadis is a provider of sustainability assessments with a worldwide reputation. It is active in numerous sectors, which gives it a high level of credibility. In the summer, EcoVadis examined DASSY®’s sustainability policy and our production centre in Sri Lanka for the first time. They use a customised checklist, adapted to the sector, location and size of the company in question.
A silver medal: an excellent performance
DASSY® and GP Garments were assessed as a "manufacturer of wearing apparel”. This is not a straightforward category: because our production site is in Sri Lanka and has more than 1,000 employees, a more thorough checklist was drawn up for us in line with the standard EcoVadis procedure. We are therefore all the prouder to have gained a score of 66 out of 100 – which puts us in the top 15% of all companies participating in EcoVadis!
What’s next?
From now on, we will have an assessment carried out by EcoVadis every year. Of course, there are still a number of points for improvement that we want to address. A challenge we intend to tackle head-on!
