Highly visible at work: combine & personalise high visibility workwear
High visibility clothes put you - almost literally - in the spotlight! While the fluorescent material makes you stand out in daylight, mist and fog, the reflective tape keeps you protected at twilight and at night.
Make sure that your high visibility clothing is certified according to the standard EN ISO 20471:2013 and complies with the safety class that is required for your specific work situation. It is best to always check this with your safety advisor.
Below you can find an overview of the different safety classes, some guidelines to combine high visibility clothes ánd particularities to personalise your safety workwear.
High visibility workwear: 3 safety classes
Professional workwear that is worn in situations where high visibility is required, has to comply to the standard EN ISO 20471:2013. There are 3 classes of high visibility clothing. The more fluorescent and reflective material present in the garment, the higher the class and the visibility of the wearer.

Did you know that safety classes can differ based upon your size? For smaller sizes, less fabric is used and the surface of the fluorescent and reflective material is smaller!
Combine warning clothing
By combining different safety classes in 1 work outfit, you can achieve a higher safety class, in specific cases. For example, when combining the DASSY® Carter high visibility UV-T-shirt (class 2) with the DASSY® Idaho high visibility shorts (class 2), you create one outfit with safety class 3.
In the table below, you can discover what the resulting class is when combining topwear and bottom wear, each with their own safety class. However, we advise you to always verify with your safety advisor if the specific combination that you wish to make complies with the safety class that is required for your specific work situation.

* With topwear we mean all clothing that you wear at the height of your torso, f.e. t-shirts, polo shirts, sweatshirts, work jackets, …. Bottom wear are work shorts, work trousers and (brace) overalls.
